Hola a todos. I’m Angie Behm, the World Languages Department Chair at Bolingbrook High School. A heritage teacher at my school brought it to my attention that as part of the NIESHL scholarship requirements, a student must be currently enrolled in a Heritage Spanish class and be a junior or senior. We have many students who test directly into Heritage 3 meaning they begin in Heritage 3 and exit the program after Heritage 4. Is there a way that a) you could offer the scholarship to those who have completed a heritage program and/ or b) you could offer the scholarship to sophomores as well. These measures would ensure that more qualifying students would be able to apply. Thanks in advance for your response and all your hard work benefiting heritage learners.
